Big and Fancy-Color Lab-Grown Diamonds for UAE Wholesalers and Jewelers
A practical guide for UAE and GCC jewelers and wholesalers sourcing 10 ct+ and fancy-color lab-grown diamonds from India. It covers what DMCC's 2025 trade figures show and don't show, examples from Liora's 10 ct+ range, how to write a specification, shipping documents, who pays import duty and VAT, and how the WhatsApp-to-pro-forma order flow works.
The short version: A UAE buyer sourcing a 10 ct+ or fancy-color lab-grown diamond from India needs four things settled before money moves: a written spec (carat band, shape, hue, grade, clarity, pair or single), an IGI report you can check against the stone, a commercial invoice that says "laboratory-grown", and an insured courier into Dubai with the importer of record named. Liora Diamond, a trade-only supplier based in Surat, runs that sequence on WhatsApp and a trade form. This guide sets out what is on the table at those sizes, what to specify, and what to ask the desk. It is written for businesses; Liora does not sell to UAE consumers.
Why the Gulf asks for big and bright
Dubai is a diamond trading center first and a retail market second, and the numbers have shifted toward lab-grown diamonds. DMCC, the free zone authority, reported on 30 August 2026 that the UAE traded 76.9 million carats of lab-grown diamonds in 2025, up 91.5 percent on the year, with trade value up 7.5 percent to US$1.3 billion. DMCC also said it has set up a dedicated Lab-Grown Diamond Vertical, separate from its natural diamond and colored stone activities. Those figures cover all lab-grown material, including industrial and technology uses, so they don't show how many 10 ct jewellery stones change hands. They do tell a jeweler that the trade infrastructure, banking, and logistics around lab-grown now exist in Dubai at scale.
For a Gulf jeweler, the commercial question is narrower: which sizes and colors justify holding or quoting against. Liora's UAE lab-grown diamond supplier page says its UAE customers typically ask for 5 ct to 20+ ct stones, pear, oval, and emerald shapes, fancy pink, yellow, and blue, matched earring pairs, and high-jewelry layouts. That is the customer request pattern reported on Liora's page, not an independent market statistic.
What UAE buyers source at 10 ct and above
Liora's catalog is the clearest evidence of what is currently buildable. Examples from its 10 ct and above range, all IGI-graded CVD stones:
| Ref | Carat | Shape | Grade | Clarity | Report |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| LD82D294 | 10.02 | Oval | Fancy Vivid Pink | VS2 | IGI |
| LD077913 | 10.03 | Pear | Fancy Vivid Pink | VS1 | IGI |
| LDB7F30E | 10.03 | Cushion | Fancy Vivid Yellow | VS1 | IGI |
| LD23A87A | 15.08 | Pear | Fancy Vivid Green | VS1 | IGI |
| LD53C28E | 21.10 | Pear | Fancy Vivid Pink | VVS2 | IGI |
| LD0B07B5 | 25.02 | Cushion | Fancy Intense Pink | VS1 | IGI |
| LDC325B7 | 30.16 | Pear | Fancy Intense Pink | VS2 | IGI |
At these sizes, the range is mostly fancy color, and pink dominates, as covered in the large pink lab-grown diamonds guide. Pear and oval, the shapes the UAE page says Gulf buyers request, are both in the range. If emerald cut is your specification, ask the desk to confirm what is available.
Larger white stones are a different conversation. Liora's Big Diamonds page says every size is available in white and fancy color, that stock stones ship fastest, and that larger or exact-spec stones are grown to order, with a date given before you commit. Treat any date as something the desk confirms in writing. For single-size detail see the 10 carat and 20 carat sourcing guides, and the 5 carat wholesale guide for the stones that most often come before them.
You can browse the range yourself: all 5 ct and above stones, pear and oval shapes, or the Big Diamonds page, which covers sizes and pairs.
Fancy colors for GCC jewellery
Color is where size and price interact. A Fancy Vivid grade carries stronger saturation than a Fancy Intense grade, and both are common in the stock above. Our fancy color lab-grown diamond supplier guide covers the supplier side of grades and modifiers, and the pink lab-grown diamond wholesale guide covers pink in particular. Three points matter most for Gulf orders.
State the range, not one grade. "Fancy Intense to Fancy Vivid pink, 10 to 15 ct, pear or oval" gets a shortlist; "Fancy Vivid pink 12 ct" often gets nothing. The same applies to modifiers: a Fancy Vivid Orangey Pink and a Fancy Vivid Pink are different stones, and the stock above includes both. Say whether a modifier is acceptable.
Ask for video in daylight-equivalent light. Screens vary, and color reads differently at 10 ct than at 1 ct. A report grade tells you the strength band; the video tells you whether you want the stone.
Disclosure is part of the product. Liora's fancy color lab-grown diamonds page says lab-grown fancy colors are usually created or intensified after growth, that the grading report records this, and that the invoice states it. Pass that wording on to your own clients. Stones are described as laboratory-grown on every invoice and report, and that statement should survive into your own paperwork if you resell or set the stone. Current pink and yellow listings are one click away.
Shipping to Dubai: documents and duties
Liora's shipping policy says every shipment travels with a specialist insured valuables courier, tracked door to door, and is insured for its invoice value until delivery. Each parcel includes a commercial invoice and packing list that describe the goods as laboratory-grown. Transit normally takes three to seven business days, depending on the destination and customs, and the UAE is on the list of countries it ships to. The UAE page adds that stock ships within a few business days of payment, with delivery dates confirmed on the invoice.
Duties are the buyer's responsibility. The shipping policy says the importer of record, normally the buyer, pays import duties, VAT, GST, and customs fees. For a UAE business, that means deciding in advance who clears the parcel, whether it enters a free zone or the mainland, and how VAT applies to your entity. We do not give tax advice, and the VAT treatment of imported lab-grown diamonds depends on your entity and current UAE rules, so confirm the position with a customs broker or your accountant before the first order. See our general Dubai lab-grown diamond supplier guide for how to read a quote.
Payment is by bank transfer against a pro-forma invoice, according to the UAE page. Liora's order of invoice, then payment, then insured delivery means you pay before the stone ships, so confirm the shortlist on video and report before you pay.
Working across time zones on WhatsApp
Dubai is at UTC+4, and Surat is at UTC+5:30, so the working day overlaps for most of the Gulf morning. Liora usually answers WhatsApp inquiries the same business day. Treat any reply time as a service target, not a guarantee. In practice, the useful message contains the following:
- Carat, band, and shape (with a fallback shape).
- Hue and grade range, and whether modifiers are acceptable.
- Clarity minimum, and whether eye-clean is enough.
- Pair or single; for pairs, the setting dimensions.
- Report preference (IGI is what the stock above carries).
- Quantity, target delivery, and the importer of record.
The same list, in more detail, is in our RFQ template for big lab-grown diamonds. After that, the flow is the same as on the UAE page: you send the spec, review a shortlist with photos, 360-degree video, and grading reports, pay the pro-forma invoice, and receive the stones by insured courier.
Pairs, holds and repeat supply
Pairs. Liora's Big Diamonds page says pairs are matched for color, clarity, measurements and make, starting from 2 ct each, with larger pairs sourced to order. Two stones with the same grade on paper can still look different, so ask for both side by side in the same light. Send the setting's center-stone measurements, and the desk will propose matches with video.
Holds. Stones can drop out of stock before payment. If you need time to decide with a client or a bank, ask for the hold terms in writing before you rely on a stone.
Repeat supply. If you are buying for a collection, a specified range (carat band, grade range, shape list) is easier to refill than a single stone. Our guide to how to buy wholesale lab-grown diamonds in B2B covers the basics of ordering. For finished goods, Liora's B2B jewelry page is the route; for parcels and larger quantities, the lab-grown diamond wholesale page. Lead times for finished jewellery are not on the site, so ask.
A note for Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait
Buyers in the wider GCC often source through Dubai or direct. Liora's shipping policy says it ships worldwide. Import rules, VAT and any local assay or hallmarking requirements for Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait differ from the UAE's, so ask the trade desk about your destination before ordering, and have your broker confirm the local requirements. The spec, report and invoice guidance above is the same.
Terms to note before you enquire
Liora supplies businesses only and does not take inquiries for single items under US$2,000. Read the trade terms and confirm with the desk how the minimum applies to your order. Also confirm the size you need with the desk; if you need a stone larger than the examples above, ask for it as a sourcing request instead of assuming it is in stock.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship to Dubai with original reports?
Liora's shipping policy says each parcel travels by an insured valuables courier with a commercial invoice and packing list, and the UAE page says buyers receive photos, 360-degree video and grading reports for shortlisted stones before paying. According to Liora's Big Diamonds page, big stones come with an IGI report as standard. Ask the desk to confirm that the original report travels with the parcel for your order, and what report you will receive for any stone without a listed lab.
Who pays UAE import VAT and duty?
The shipping policy says import duties, VAT, GST, and customs fees are paid by the importer of record, normally the buyer. Which tax or duty applies depends on your entity, whether the goods enter a free zone, and current UAE rules. Rates change, so confirm with a customs broker or the Federal Tax Authority before ordering. This is general information, not legal or tax advice.
Can I order lab-grown diamonds from Liora by WhatsApp?
Yes. Liora's pages link a trade-desk WhatsApp number, and the UAE page says first answers usually arrive the same business day. Send the spec (carat band, shape, hue, grade range, clarity, pair or single) so the desk can shortlist. Orders are confirmed by a pro-forma invoice, not by chat, and no reply time is guaranteed.
Is lab-grown diamond trade growing in the UAE?
DMCC reported that the UAE traded 76.9 million carats of lab-grown diamonds in 2025, up 91.5 percent year on year, with value up 7.5 percent to US$1.3 billion. DMCC also created a dedicated Lab-Grown Diamond Vertical in August 2026. These figures include industrial and technology materials as well as jewellery stones, so they do not measure jewellery demand on their own.
What is the largest lab-grown diamond Liora can supply?
Liora's range includes stones above 30 ct, such as a 30.16 ct Fancy Intense Pink pear (ref LDC325B7). Confirm the size you need with the desk. White stones above 10 ct are grown to order, with the date given before you commit.
Does Liora ship to Saudi Arabia, Qatar or Kuwait?
Liora says it ships worldwide. Ask the desk about your destination and have a local customs broker confirm duties and any hallmarking or documentation requirements before you order.
